    Default Rejected Covers

    Hi all
Does anyone know if there is there anywhere we can surf to see any images of the various 'rejected' covers for any of Stephens books. I think some of the artwork for the book covers are fantastic. It would make an interesting add on to the site to have some of the rejected or concept covers on display somewhere.
    Cheers

This was to be the original cover for the UK edition of From a Buick 8 (which is the proof of that title:

This is the rejected cover for the UK Lisey's Story:

This is one of the three (that I know of) rejected covers for the US edition of Rose Madder:

(Interestingly, this is the image posted by eBay when the seller selects "Stock image".)
The other two covers for Rose Madder, neither of which I own, are identical to the trade cover except one has King's name on the front in red and the other is missing the Viking logo on the spine.

This is the rejected cover for the Plume trade paperback for the original Gunslinger:

This is the same cover, however, that was used on the audio tape edition.

There may be others out there, also.

My Rose Madder copy looks exactly like that, only difference being that SK`s name is written in white, and Rose is above Madder, as in

    Rose
    Madder

    Everything else is the same.

That's the change--you have the standard trade cover!

Make sure the copy you own is identical to the one in the picture. In the regular trade edition, the author is the same, but the trade edition has "The Dark Tower" in larger type, where in the variant "The Gunslinger" is larger and "The Dark Tower" is just below the left side of King's name. If, indeed, you have one that's identical to the variant, you've got a nice collectible there!

okay, i finally managed to get into my storage shed and find my copy. the cover of my copy isn't identical. as you said, "The Dark Tower" is larger and on the bottom with "The Gunslinger" underneath in smaller font. the pic is the same though. thanks for showing us all some of those rejected variants!
