Edgar and Abigail

Hello everyone! I am new to the board and I have looked but I can't seem to find the answer to my question anywhere so I am not sure if it has been addressed earlier.

I was wondering if Edgar Freemantle in is related to Mother Abigail or if the similarity in names is just a coincidence? Any ideas or am I completely off base?
