Like just about everyone else here, I've read the King backlist from Carrie to Under the Dome. But this is to novel I find his most terrifying. This is the one that keeps me awake nights.
Man, he's good!

The scariest novel for me, will be the last one he ever writes....oh the horror, the horror!...I'll need serious counseling then(even more than I do now)...![]()
Don't know if I'd pick it as The Scarriest King (that would probably be It or Pet Semetary for my share), but it is an excellent story and it stayed with me long after the book ended.
I agree completely, this story terrified me, but only because the description of Sara Laughs made me immediately think of my house in a different setting. I've been very glad we've never had a moose's head in our living room after reading this
without a doubt. Bag of Bones is the scariest one for me. It also happens to be my favorite King novel (close running with the Stand). I live in a very similar setting as where the book takes place and I read this novel late at night after my wife was asleep, sitting on the end of the sofa with just a reading lamp on. I must say that many times I found myself looking around the room and behind me. Love this novel!
It scares me to death, it's fantastic, one of my Favourites up there with It, The Stand and the Dark Tower series.
Probably one of the few SK novels I haven't re-read. It was o.k. A little slow. A little hard to stay interested. Probably as bad as Duma Key or Rose Madder. That being said, SK on bad day is still SK! You never know when he's going to write the next It, Insomnia, or Under the Dome!
i agree.
This is one of my favorite SK books. I re-read it every year.
LOL, that's great! Love to hear stuff like that. What a great novel.
