    Default Video Interviews?

Let's be honest - The selection of Interviews here on the official Forum is pretty lame, there are under 15 interviews available and 0 video interviews or links thereto. My question is, given the fact that Stephen has redoubtably done Hundreds of Interviews in his span of 4 decades, where is all the content?

Likewise, I've been searching far and wide and cannot find a single video interview wherein Stephen talks about Salem's Lot, etc - Are there no Video Interviews of Steve dating in the 70's, early 80's?

Many thanks for any info pertaining to Video Interviews, mainly.

    Cheers,

We're putting them up as we find them and get permission from those holding the rights to post. Just because this is his official site and he was the one being interviewed does not give us the right to post them.

Actually, while it's not video, there is a book called
    BARE BONES
    Conversations with Stephen King
Edited by Tim underwood and Chuck Miller
It covers a half dozen interviews with King from 1979 through to 1987 so it covers his thoughts and his life experiences (to a point) while writing many of his earlier classics. Salem's Lot is within these pages (again, to a point)
as a matter of fact I just checked amazon and there are many, many copies available, some for 1 copper cent plus shipping. You won't get a better deal than that.

Speaking of interview books.....I'm dissapointed because I read last year that there was a new interview book that would contain interviews with him and include many of the latest works up to Lisey's Story (if memory serves)

I don't see mention of it anywhere and it may have been cancelled for the same reasons....rights.
But thats just wrong, man. Sometimes these rights issues can be a drag for the fans since, there IS, to some degree, a paying audience who wants to read these kinds of things.

Veering just a bit off topic... some of you may wonder why some TV shows and films do not get released on DVD with the same original songs you remember seeing them way back when. And again, it has to do with rights and the owners of same.

Additionally- sometimes the rights CAN be re-negotiated but the studio doesn't want to go through the money and hassle of doing so (and so they negotiate placing songs in the soundtracks that cost less and are hassle free- to the chagrin of die hard fans)

Again-- rights can be a drag sometimes.
