I agree, it should be a given about the bodily functions, no need to waste pages in a good book by insulting our intelligence-we know they gotta go and regularly too. It shouldnt be even brought up in my opinion. The same holds true for Roland's mother and her affair. It was mentioned and no need to go into intimate details. I would like to thank SK for being considerate enough NOT to dwell on unneccessary details. It just distracts from the story.

No offense people, sorry if annoyed anyone; I didn't mean anything bad. The emphasis was on my last sentence. And of course I'm going to read all other books, I look forward to it!
