It sounds intresting to me, so I don't know if I should buy it or continue with old-fashioned reading books.

With the latest price drop, maybe. If you're comfortable with reading eBooks then go for it. Beware though, not all new releases will be $9.99, but the majority are. I'm never gonna get a eBook reader. I'm old fashioned and always will be. I need a good ole' book in my hands.
I said "never" as well. I have now owned a kindle for over a year. I figured if it was good enough for Sai King it was good enough for me. I couldn't live without it. The print is so similar to a book that I still find myself reaching up to turn the page. The really nice thing is you can change the font size. (perfect for the King paperback novels read through aging eyes). I don't know much about the i-pad. I don't need all the "bells and whistles".
Mine's a Sony, and I didn't pay for it (it was a gift) but it's pretty nice although, I'm not sure what the price comparison is between Sony and Kindle...
Honestly Kindle is a huge waste of money. $189-$379 Just to be able to download stuff. The downloads themselves are priced similarly to paperbacks, and since they don't have to print them, I don't know why they wouldn't be even cheaper. For the price of a new video game system I want to be able to do more than read text files. Part of the reason I like books, is because it's a fairly cheap hobby. Even the nice hardcover editions are only around 30 dollars, and you bargain hunt, you can spend next to nothing. Plus what is the point? Its not any more portable than a book, and while it holds more than a thousand books at time, so what, you can't read more than you carry anyway.
The kindle is great, I cant wait for the new DX to come out

I've been debating on buying one for a few years now, just can't make up my mind. I travel a lot so it would be great for that - I'm always packing up books to bring, or buying yet more while on vacation at yard sales, flea markets, etc. And that is the downside; I buy many used paperbacks for 25 or 50 cents and I wouldn't have that option with the Kindle, unless they find a way to trade or sell your downloads when you are done with them. Mainly I would like the to be able to try the reader out for a few weeks to see if I really like it. The drop in price has been a temptation though...
