    I liked the realistic touch of Polly's bedroom slipper stamping on Gaunt's hand to leave the valise's case handles alone.

    one other thing (and maybe less volatile a subject....) is the number of times the word voice is used in the story. and that too, sadly, is something that happens in other works and to speak of it i guess, would throw someone off their feed, and yet again, it would feed another to no end. imagine that. simple amusement kept leland going, as well...
