Question What is your earliest memory?

I`m reading " The Story of Edgar Sawtelle " right now and there is a chapter devoted to his earliest memories, so I thought I would ask my friends here what yours is.

My parents ( well, now only my mom, since dad passed away ) say it is absolutley impossible for me to remember this, but I do remember it - vividly.
My father was carrying me over a cornfield, it was a very, very sunny day, and I was shifting a bit left and right in his arms and while that was happening, the comforter ( nipple, sucking bag ) I had in my mouth fell out my mouth into the field.
I remember looking after it while it was falling towards the ground and I also remember my father looking for it frantically ( since I was crying hysterically ) - and not finding it!
I believe that I can remember that because it was a really big shock for me, but my parents refuse to believe that.
Reason being simple - I was only 8 months old.
There are a lot of other details I remember connected to that event as well, but I don`t won`t to make the post to long.
A lot of times I have been told that I have almost a photgraphic memory, since I can remember impossible things, from very early on in my childhood and then events throughout my whole life.
And, for me, that is a curse, rather than a blessing.
There were and are many days and nights when I pray for one thing and one thing only - to forget.
    But it is not happening.

    So, what`s your earliest memory/memories?

That is not a good first memory at all. Not at all.

Stepping on a board accidentally, with a four-inch nail attached to it, and looking down at the bloody horror of a nail protruding through the top of my bare foot. I think I was 4 or 5 at the time, but THAT got my attention! (As well as a tetanus shot).

I think it was when I first realized I existed. I was 3 and sitting in my backyard in the Spring in Mass, Fort Devens. It was sunny and I was sitting down enjoying the flowers. I remember thinking " I am here".

My first loving memory is of me riding my dog which was a collie. She looked like Lassie and I called her Boy. I was only about five and she was my best friend. I loved that dog so much because my grandpa gave her to me. My grandpa loved me a lot.

My first heart breaking memory was watching her run behind the truck on the day we moved away.

I was three years old and my mother was holding me on her hip. We were staring at a fire in the woods behind our house that was dangerously close. They did end up putting it out. The main thing that stands out in that first memory is that I was wearing red rubber boots.

I was two and a half (?) and my mother bought me these very cool gray suede ankle boots with a little heel on them. I demanded them, I had older sisters I wanted to imitate, so she gave in and bought them. I had only worn them for five minutes and we were walking to the shop when it started pouring down with rain so I threw a great big hissy fit/temper tantrum because my new boots were ruined. I remember thinking "God must really hate me."
Damn, even at that age I was throwing pity parties for myself.
