I`m reading " The Story of Edgar Sawtelle " right now and there is a chapter devoted to his earliest memories, so I thought I would ask my friends here what yours is.
My parents ( well, now only my mom, since dad passed away ) say it is absolutley impossible for me to remember this, but I do remember it - vividly.
My father was carrying me over a cornfield, it was a very, very sunny day, and I was shifting a bit left and right in his arms and while that was happening, the comforter ( nipple, sucking bag ) I had in my mouth fell out my mouth into the field.
I remember looking after it while it was falling towards the ground and I also remember my father looking for it frantically ( since I was crying hysterically ) - and not finding it!
I believe that I can remember that because it was a really big shock for me, but my parents refuse to believe that.
Reason being simple - I was only 8 months old.
There are a lot of other details I remember connected to that event as well, but I don`t won`t to make the post to long.
A lot of times I have been told that I have almost a photgraphic memory, since I can remember impossible things, from very early on in my childhood and then events throughout my whole life.
And, for me, that is a curse, rather than a blessing.
There were and are many days and nights when I pray for one thing and one thing only - to forget.
But it is not happening.
So, what`s your earliest memory/memories?
