    Default SK Country field trip!

I'm going to be camping for a few days in the general Bangor area in the next week or so, and was trying to plan fun stuff to do and things to see. I was wondering if any of my fellow board members had suggestions for notable SK sites while I'm there. I know Bangor is a rough template for Derry, so I figure just roaming around will be fun, and I have Bett's Bookstore on my list. Thanks in advance!

Check in with the Bangor Chamber of Commerce for tips. They probably won't be running their Tommyknockers tour but they may have other info. You're arriving about a year too late to visit Betts Bookstore as that has been sold and is now only an internet site.

Thanks for the advice. Bett's being closed stinks, though!

Try selling cookies at Uncle Stevie's door-he's a sucker for that ruse...

Ha! I thought about driving by the house to see the gate, but I don't want to really go near it. I'd feel like I was trying to invade his and Tabitha's privacy

His house is on a public street and you can see the gate without having to go on their property. It's unlikely they'd be there but it's still appreciated that their privacy is respected.

Ms Mod, however, likes it when her privacy is interrupted.

I am telling you just show up late at night. She will be OK with it...

No, she doesn't. She's old and crotchety and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a chainsaw and a wood chipper, and 50 acres of wetlands. Just sayin'

Oh yeah, I'll see your old, crotchety, black belt wearin' self with chainsaw, wood chipper and wetlands under development...and raise you my uber-grumpy, gun-belt wearin', weed-whacker slingin', lime spreading over acres of lonely forest, full of coyotes and rabid uni-bombing squirrels...
