Question I didn`t get that *spoliers*

Why was the tree that Rosie planted in the end so important?
And the place where she did plant it?
What kind of tree was it?
    What is the purpose?

I somehow missed the importance of that.

Other than that - WOW, what a good book.
    loved every page of it.

Thanks in advance for explaning that to me.

Here's Steve's explanation (someone had asked a similar question back in 1995 and I thought keeping the answer would come in handy )

"Rosie discovers that rage doesn't go away just because a person no longer needs it. By planting the tree from the poison seed, she is making an effort to externalize her anger and neutralize it. Think of it as symbolic of therapy, or confession."

Good thinking, Ms Mod, and thank you so much for posting that.

I re-read it a few weeks back, my wife's reading it for the first time now and is really enjoying it. Excellent book, Norman was an awesome, awesome villain. Loved the DT tie-ins too.

I was wondering what became of Rose Madder's baby? It seems that "IT", Rose Madder, and Mordred all have something in common as well.

Sometimes it's more interesting NOT to know and let your imagination wander...
