I have a copy of an interview Stephen did with a DW or D Wong, where he tells about his muse being a bloodthirsty little elf who lives in a hole under his desk. I need to find the source of this interview so I can give credits and quote it. Thanks

It's not ringing any bells. Do you have any other information such as the date, was it titled, etc.?
If I may...that would be under "Finding Facts For Fornits & Fornus" would it not?...![]()
I thought it was in a Writer's Digest issue, but can't find through that. Here is the beginning...DW: Mr. King. I read On Writing (a non-fiction memoir on Stephen King's writing career) and I was most interested in the chapter where you discuss where you get your ideas.... SK: A question I get more than any other, as you can probably imagine... DW: Right, and you said in the book that all of your ideas come from, and I'm quoting here, "a small, bloodthirsty elf who lives in a hole under my desk." What does the "elf" in that statement symbolize, for you? SK: Symbolize? DW: Right, I know that by saying he's in... Included in the article is a photo of Stephen wearing a dark zippered jacket. And there is a photo of an elfish looking creature. It's a lengthy interview and hilarious. I'd like to quote it in a book I'm writing, but can't without the source info. I've searched the internet to no avail. Thanks for help
Sorry, it's still not connecting for me. Where did you find the interview?
Maybe from Writer's Digest, but can't find. Or else from internet... I printed a copy, but have no identifying information on it. Stephen addresses the interviewer as "Mr. Wong" The article also has an insert from "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon"
Sorry, still coming up blank. We don't keep a file with just interviews and sometimes we don't get copies of the publications in which Stephen has done an interview so might not have it anyway. Anybody else remember this interview?
It rings a small rusty bell (not a polished chrome gong) in my mind. I have read something along those lines in the past year, and I DO distinkinly remember that SK was joking about the small, bloodthirsty elf bit.
I don't think it was 'Writer's Digest.' I get that in the mail. Or at least I used to. I think those asshats cancelled my lifetime free renewal!
However, I don't get 'Entertainment Weekly,' but several of the Doctor's Offices that I've been in recently do. He has a column in that 'Zine.
GNTLGNT may be right. Check a hardcopy Author's Note for "The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet." In "Skeleton Crew" I think? I have no idea where my copy is hiding.
the only time I have seen the format of DW: used in interviewing was the Darkworlds interviews during the Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon releases. They were done with George Romero/ Darkworlds.com Sept. 2002 and on Lilja's website. Maybe that might be a clue?
