    Default Very Touching

I was looking at all of the Stephen King book's and came across The girl who loved tom gordan. It looked different from all of his other books so I decided to read it. It was my favorite so far! It is very touching and sad, but there is a happy ending(: I read this book in one day, I loved it! I feel somehow i relate to it. It could really happen to someone besides certain little parts, it makes you feel sorry for the girl and emotions towards her. If you have never read a SK book and can't decide which one to start with, I recomened you read The girl who loved tom gordan!

I totally concur. I always felt that this was one of Stephen King's underestimated books, and not rightfully. I thought it was a great story and very much of a challenge - kind of like Hitchcock trying to shoot a film in one shot, just for the fun of it. One (real) character and still... what a tale.

Umm, I think most--won't say ALL as there's always an exception to the rule--people on Stephen Kings message board will have already read at least one of his books, but great advice. I also love TGWLTG, and each time I read it get caught up in Trishas tale.

Welcome to the board Jessica, hope you enjoy being here.

It is good, and I like to-because it's one I can heartily recommend to a younger reader that will hopefully lead to a lifetime love of King's works...

I was thinking about recommending this book to my 10 going on 11 year old daughter, but some of the language & incidents described are not what I would want her to be reading. I know everything she reads now, so I think I'll wait a few more years to introduce her to this. But I would recommend it to a young adult or yes, possibly a first time King reader.

I respect that you obviously care so much for your daughter!!!! My 11 year old niece uses language that would make a dirty old sailor blush!!! And besides, she doesn't like books, she claims all books are boring! I do know you have mentioned living a ways from a city, so when you are ready to introduce this to her, I'll bet there will be a reinforcement of those lessons you've been teaching!
And you know she'll love the book!
