Default When real life acts like an SK Novel

The first time that I used my GPS at dusk freaked me out. When the time on the computer changes from daytime to night, the background of the video screen switches, in an instant, from white to black. When I first saw this happen I thought I had just crossed over an SK line and entered into a realm of darkness. I felt like I should be making a U-ee and driving back the other way before something slimy started splatting onto my windshield. When you're a Constant Reader, and loving it, I think you're always looking for that mondo-bizzaro possibility. Anyone else?

Oh yeah, you run into bizzare type moments and kinda look up in the sky to see if there's a big pen up there writing this whole thing(or maybe it's just me)...

I can blame many of my odd phobias on my love for King. Including having my eye impaled in odd ways. He seems to love popping those oculars with pens and needles and coathooks and fire and...

While listening to The Mist in my truck driving down the interstate, I rounded a curve and saw I was not only alone, but was rapidly approaching a sheer wall of dense fog. It looked like a solid wall and the closer I got the more afraid I was. My heart was pounding, my foot came off the gas...I was TERRIFIED! Right before I got to it I tood the CD out of the player and threw it in the back seat and (against my will) drove thru it. You could not see anything and I had to slow down to 30. It lasted about a mile and a half and it ended just as it had begun...with a straight wall. It was months before I got the nerve to listen to the rest of the CD.

After reading Under the Dome, I find I get a little antsy driving through a strange small town. I keep waiting for that dome to come down!

Clowns give me the creeps since I read "It" 20 years ago. And I haven't been able to look at my cell phone the same since "Cell"

Oh, man, Pith -- you just reminded me of... one time I woke up to take a 4 AM whiz... and there was a beeg ol RAT treading water in the toilet bowl.

    I took my leak outside.

I've had a fear of my neighbour's Saint Bernard ever since I read Cujo.

Here’s an example of life imitating an SK novel: My husband was active duty military which required us to move across the country a lot, on average every two years. FL to CA; CA to MS; MS to CA; CA to MD etc…. (Yes, after all that traveling we are still married.)

On one of our long moves we had a place lined up to stay overnight. We just picked places on the map that we felt were reasonable places to stop after so many hours of driving mostly after 8- 10 hours. Our family was drained of all energy, especially my toddler. We got into the room looked, around and noticed streaks of blood all over the door! (If that doesn’t give you Willies nothing will.) Immediately I thought we had just been inserted into one of those horrid B movies that you think could never happen, but maybe they could.

We called the front office, explained to them what we saw and this was the response. The person in the office said, “Oh yeah, that’s right, that room wasn’t available yet.” Creeeepy!

We got another room, not that I even wanted to stay there but we had to be ready for another day of tough travel.

They never told us what happened in that room, I still wonder. (I am an SK fan after all.) I am sure King could have written an excellent story about this, I wonder about that too.
