Duma Key, a quick synopsis plz?

this book has been the book thats always on the shelf, and for some reason the name and feel i get from the inside flap confuses me......how bout just a few words about the book to give me motivation to read?

I really enjoyed Dumas Key, for me it was kind of a return to form for SK. Its the best of his later novels so far, and compares favorably with his early blockbusters.

The Sequel to Duma Key would have to start with a research scientists trolling the bottom of a particularly deep lake in Michigan with some sonar gadget that gets fouled up in something and brings up a silver metal tube. Havoc in that unfortunate scientist's life ensues. Now, if you want to know why, you have to read Duma Key.
