    Default Cheers to Rand Paul!

Anyone else think hes amazingly brilliant just like his Dad, and love to see a Paul for President?

"I have a message," Paul told supporters at a victory party in Bowling Green, "a message from the tea party, a message that is loud and clear and does not mince words: 'We have come to take our government back.' "

...... the party is just getting started, have some tea ..... Johnny Depp

Listen up homeskillets, he's not been elected yet, though you wouldn't know it...there's more than a good chance he's gonna be MY state senator.
Now while I'll be more than happy to give him a shot (if a "Republican" , or whatever it's called at the moment, has to be elected...but it ain't in the bag by a long shot), hell I'll give anybody a shot, and I'll most definitely take him over Jim Bunning, & I'd reeeaally love for him to be a political thorn in Mitch Mcconnell's side, I'm still waiting.
I'm waiting for him to start talking about what he's going to do for the Mighty BlueGrass, The Commonwealth & Great State of Kentucky, you know, being he might be MY state senator and all..justa waitin'...and waitin'...and waitin'......
What's that?...oh, I thought I heard somethin'...never mind, once again it was just a buncha nothin'.

I have seen our local TEA Party movement being co-opted by the Republican party. One of the more prominent members justified the move as "using the Republican party as a vehicle to further the ideals of the TEA Party movement." My response to that is, "If the only vehicle we have to depend on is the broken down, unreliable Republican party, we would be better off walking."

Republicans and Democrats are BOTH socialists. Want proof? Try to end the socialist programs like SS, Medicare, etc, and watch BOTH of them scream in anguish. Indeed, they both claim they are not socialist, while demanding their socialist programs. The TEA Party is a good effort, but I think it won't last in its current form for more than a few years. There is no way out of our predicament, except through it. That is what people should be preparing themselves for.

Rand is probably a good man with good intentions. We'll see.

Now mind, in my mind your own bidness, 'bout my business, part of my mind, I do understand what the Randmeister has been all over the tube talkin' about since last night and today, and probably for some time to come, come to think on it.
That's why I'm now starting to lean toward voting the Repulibagervative ticket...yeah, I kinda like that one too!

See, I'm trying like a big dumb hillbilly (no really, it's that not much of a stretch) to open a just little itty bitty seasonal roadside concession stand (if the state of Kentucky's, and especially my county's, "Republican's (I'm freakin' crawlin' in 'em) are the friends of the small business man", would ever get the holy hell out of my way that is) on my parking lot, so I can earn a very small living, without having to leave my elderly Mama alone with strangers...trust me, it's for their own good, my family just doesn't go around unleashing that kind of power upon an unsuspecting healthcare worker, as we care for our fellow man..well, just enough anyway, plus we also don't wish to burden the tax payer for the medicare costs, which oh my word are they ever substantial...no thanks needed, we're tight and take care of our own.
(hmm, and family values are such an important part of the Conservapubs philosophy too I think I remember, at least from a BIG campaign not long ago..my snack shack plot's in the bag)

If by chance I can actually pull this highly technical, legally tangled, outrageously complicated, internationally financially entwined, twilight zone zoned, gazzilion dollar free market hot dog/sno cone stand off, well then gee whiz I can hardly wait!
I can hardly wait till the Rand Paul's way of thinking thinkers of the world, take over, and gimme back some 'o dat good 'ol segregation, as it's my constitutional right...right?
How grand wizardly it will be, when I can put up my first First Amendment Right Guaranteed sign...the one that'll semi-poetically read, White Folks Snacks Served In Back...yeah okay, got it in one, nix the wizardly part huh?
I agree, they are kind of sissyish & whiny...besides, who wears satin before labor day I ask you?

Oh my word, I'm already so giddy with constitutionally guaranteed anticipation, I might actually swoon while havin' a fit of the vapors...hmm, or do you have fits of vapors whilst swoonin'?
No matter, as I am soooo in touch with my southern belle feminine side.

Holy smoke, I wonder how long it'll take before I'll be able to collect my insurance money?
You know, from the practically guaranteed, some might even say inevitable, fire.
Or I guess it could even be a snappy explosion, I mean historically they've been known to attempt stressing a point...well there's that, plus and any good patriotically intentioned serious redneck just loooves things that go *BOOM*..I know I do, and I'm not even serious.
Might just be I could get an additional rider on that 'splosion thing, bein' it'll be Rand to Rescue of the Justa About Anything Goes Free Market and all, and I'm sure someone will be more than happy to relieve me of the heavy burden of carrying my cash.

Count me in baby, this is gonna be such a blast..uhh, hmm, ya know, perhaps I should rephrase that.

Well, no I don't think he is so very wonderful. Naturally enough, I disagree with him on many things. But his reluctance to own up to things he's said about discrimination is very telling.

He states his opposition to Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which prohibits places of business from discriminating based upon "race, color, religion, or national origin." Any lover of liberty should support this law completely: what this law does is reinforce a crucial tenet of free society. It protects people against maltreatment based upon non-harmful things about themselves that they cannot change. The same goes for the Americans With Disabilities Act (which he said he'd like to repeal) those with permanent physical and mental challenges cannot change themselves.

Why does he consider a public business, such as a restaurant, to be covered by privacy laws but a woman's uterus is not? Why does he think it's okay for businesses to discriminate against customers (a stupid move, financially) because of the color of their skin? Does he think that this ability to discriminate extends to race, religion, gender? He's got a lot of 'splainin' to do....

Perhaps most disturbing is that when pressed by the Louisville Courier-Journal if he agreed or disagreed with Hightower’s belief that the United States government was responsible for the attacks on September 11th, Rand Paul’s campaign said it was a "complicated situation" with "truth on both sides."

Libertarians say they believe in a merit-based society, yet this man is a political novice who has ridden to fame on his Father's coattails. Seriously, if he were not Ron Paul's son would he be in his current position? Just sayin'.

As for the Tea Partiers, they are in no way Libertarians. Does this look like things Libertarians support?

...strongly support Arizona's borderline-Nazi immigration bill.
...are staunchly against a woman's right to choose.
...oppose the reading of Miranda rights for United States citizens.
...support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
    ...oppose GLBT rights.
    ...support the use of torture.
...desperately want to keep the prison at Gitmo open for business.

    Oh, I almost forgot:
...think the President of the United States is a SOOPER SEEKRIT MUSLIN.

While I admire anyone who is willing to put themselves in a position of such scrutiny, I am adamant that they answer questions put to them directly. That goes for any candidate. But Mr. Paul will not do this. I don't believe this to be the proper attitude for a Federal Legislator.

Well, he sure knows how to handle the media, did anyone catch him own George Stephanopolous on GMA this morning? ABC Headliner: Rand Paul Defends Discrimination Remarks

so now Rand Paul has stated that hes in favor of institutional racism? Perhaps it is so that the overreach he addresses in his view of the Civil Rights Act is not an overt statement in favor of racism, but one of many examples of an ideological viewpoint (popular among true conservatives) that good government intentions can tread (if not overstep) constitutional lines.
