Default My review of Just after Sunset

Well All in all Just after Sunset just lacked for me.. I loved his other short story collections alot better.. alot of the storys in this book were sort of droll. I think Stephen King focused on the real horrors we face in life and not on supernatural things... although im not saying supernatural things are not real.. cause trust me they are very real....

Willa- "I knew a girl her name was willa she had a headache and took a pilla" she probabbly got it from reading this story. The story does drag alot... but it would be very interesting to see this live. About some passengers who dont realize there dead right away.

The Gingerbread Girl-No supernatural or weird themes in this story just a girl who runs and runs and runs. Well if u are afraid of kidnappers i guess u can consider this horror.

Harveys Dream-A mans dream comes into reality.. sort of Blaze' for me

Rest Stop-About a couple arguing at a rest stop.. The mans abusive.. Were are the horrors? the demons? the only demon here is the one in the angry spouse.

Stationary Bike-Great stuff i will never look at my excersise bike the same way again

The things they left behind-Great tribute to 9/11

Graduation afternoon-A typical story with an EXPLOSIVE ending. SHORT AND SWEET.

N-MY FAVORITE OUT OF THE BOOK -King also has a comic of this out now. This is King This is horror-and this story makes u think! Bravo! I was hoping more of the storys would be like this..

The cat from hell-Based on the Tales from the darkside that came out in the 80s great story. The title explains itself.. great horror.

The New york times at bargain rates- didnt get this one at all..

Mute-A hitchhiker picks up a deafmute.

Ayana-An angel takes the form of a little girl named Ayana.. miracle story.

A very tight place-- disgusting grotesque--imagine getting stuck in a port o pottie and falling down in the toilet.. grose. I no longer want to use those things anymore..

All in all I think King was trying to let us live the things we are afraid of in real life.. Im just a sucker for the supernatural.. and all his other short story collctions.. the very end after all the storys was cute what SK wrote at the end of the book and the way he explained them all.

I see all the horror I need to on a daily basis as a prison nurse...so real-life fiction if you will, or fictional "long legged beasties" that go bump in the night-either way, they're my escape from the true monsters...

I did like The New York Times at Bargain Rates, but like you, I was left rather confused. I really liked the rest of them too, although Graduation Afternoon was a little odd.
