I saw a guy in a bar wearing a black t-shirt with "Did-a-chik!" printed on the back. I didn't ask. Should have. He probably didn't know the reference though, so I figured that might be an awkward moment.
That's so funny, I am currently listening to the audiobook of The Drawing of the Three, and I have the same problem! The reader of that book does a really good job on those "dum-a-chum" lines, it's both funny and creepy at the same time!
Car Guy-you're fine-I'm worried about me though-I can't get the Chipmunks singing Christmas Carols out of my head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Maybe a Garden Weasel will do the trick)...
Yah...Tooter-fish got me laughing too. I cracked open a can for my cats - told them what was coming ("Whoooo wants toooooter-fish??") and my husband looked at me like "What did you just say?" and I couldn't stop laughing - brilliant the way it's some of the small details that just stick in the old gray matter upstairs...tooter-fish and astin.
My friend told me the other day her cousin named her new son Astin...you can guess what I thought of.
I had a dream a few months back that lobstrosities were in my house, trying to bite my fingers off as I reached for my keys. Go figure.
I had all of those sayings running through my head for a long time after reading the Dark Tower series. I can't believe how long it took to get it out. I even tried to explain to my sister what I meant when I would blurt out dad-a-chack or some other hilarous SK saying, but all I got was this creepy look that made me feel like she thought I was truly disturbed. Oh well, I know what I was thinking, right?
My favorite monsters from the series was the lobstrosities and thanks a lot for getting their call stuck in my head again. While reading the series I gave a silent cheer as they were mentioned in almost every book after the second one.
We still use many of the sayings in our home. Tuna Fish is always Tooter Fish.....and a week rarely passes by that someone doesn't mention Dad-a-chack, astin or Tak.
We used to think other people were weird, I'm thinking maybe we are the weird ones...
