Default It : I wanna be a kid again!

Nothing for me brings back the nostalgia of being a kid more than sitting down and reading It. Summers spent playing in the woods, trekking through the stream looking for make believe monsters or treasure and being with friends. Would we have had the balls to face "IT" i doubt it, but we held our own pretty good. SK captured what it meant to be a kid-our fears and loves-in those pages and it will always be my favorite book.

You pounded that nail! Although I do think Uncle Stevies glasse's get a bit rose-colored at times...I only wish my childhood could have been filled with such adventure...but he DOES capture the essence of that which many of you have experienced.

I would not want to be a kid again but that makes the book only so much better, because you feel like you are one of their friends and with the book you can always re-live it!

Yeah SK does have a knack for drawing a vivid picture of children's lives. Often creepy and very disturbed children, but sometimes the everyday kid whicj I love relating my own childhood to. The losers were definatly a group I could hang out with.

I would love to be a kid again - even if I'm still a kid (in a bigger-lesser degree, I'm 24). When I read IT, I barely had any friends, being an outsider, which I am to this day. My favourite pastime was sitting in my room with a jug of Ice tea, a chocolate bar, and this book. My friends don't like to read, yet, they saw the movie, and enjoyed it.

And here comes the 40 milion dollar question, let's unleash our imagination - what would happen, if IT would be here?
Tough question, yes it is. Let's admit, the village where I live has a big resemblance to Derry, therefore it would be an ideal place for IT to live. We also have Great Bridge, Memorial Park, derelict houses, big open field, and forest - even a river! It's no Kenduskeag, in fact, it's much bigger. We also have a "Barrens" region, embracing the riversides, plus an island (we call it "Karg Island" for no reason at all), and there are processing plants near the village, just across the bridge, next to a junkyard.

Taking down IT would be a challenge, yet, I must admit, we're far more well-prepared than the Losers were. We've got courage, heavy weaponry, equipment, and more effective transfer. My bicycle, the FRG Revenge is one of the fastest wheels 'round here. Sure weapons wouldn't cause too much damage on IT, but it'd keep away most Henry Bowerses from us

A wiser man than me once said, "If I had it all to do over again . . . I wouldn't."
