    Default Needful Things Audiobook

Anyone here listened to the Needful Things audiobook? Narrated by Stephen King himself.

I was just wondering if anyone else found the audio quality a bit odd - like it wasn't done in a studio nearly. A lot of master tape noise and recording glitches (I have it on CD).

Does anyone know details of the recording? Eg, did Mr King record it at home or something? I'm not complaining, just that it stands out among all the King audio books I've listened too (including others by Stephen King) because of it. So I have been curious about it

Any details on it? I was still wondering about it last night, nearly a year later Curious

No, he doesn't do the audio recordings at home. They are recorded in professional recording studios.

Mine are on original cassettes. No issues with sound quality.

Just a thought but maybe the original was done as cassette only and years later when they decided to make a cd version, the masters were gone and they ended up transferring to cd from cassettes instead of the original masters. That kind of thing happens with music and movies too.

I've listened to it and didn't notice any difference in it's quality and the sound quality of other audiobooks.

I listened to a MP3 copy of the book and it sounded okay.

I just got finished listening to it as well, it was a digital copy, but it was of rather poor quality as well. I could tell when the cassette had ended and they had to "pause" the track or whatever. Plus lots of crackly noises etc. Doesn't change the fact that it was a fantastic "read" nonetheless and I wish Mr. King would narrate more often!
