Default Kindle titles I have read

I've reading some short stories on my Kindle lately. I read a couple of items that I'm not sure what to think....laughing at myself. They were only $1 or $2 in the Kindle Books section. The author is W.M. Dean -Born of You and Writings from the Edge..... At first I read them and thought what is this? But the items in the stories I keep thinking about for some reason.

Then the author has accomplished what they set out to do: The stories have lived on within you after you've closed the books. I've never heard of this author myself, what are the stories about?

I said stories...but I should have said poems (if they can be called that?). It seems to be about her/his observations on life and odd stuff. The Born of You is a poem about life's weight crushing this person. Again that's my futile attempt to understand what the author meant?

A week or two later after reading them, they are short, I still think about it. Not sure why? I wonder if I am thinking too much about nothing?
