    Default 2 questions

    1. On the part about how to go about writing, does King imply not to make notes and so forth to structure what you're writing or does he more or less say what works best for you?

    2. I had what I thought was a really great idea for a book, but I recently found out that someone in the 70's had almost the same idea (even the title) and made a B movie out of it. Should I still write it,even with my original title for it?

    1. He feels that making too many notes, outlines, etc. can hamper creativity and that you may be surprised by what comes out if you just let it flow. That may not work for you, though.
    2. Not unless you want to be sued for plagiarism if you try to publish it. That doesn't mean you can't write it for your own personal use--just don't go for publication unless you change enough of the similarities so that it isn't the same story.

Guess I won't be writing my idea then lol. Started on another one yday evening. Worked on it for about an hour and got 4 or so pages done, excluding title and dedication pages. Its actually one I started writing a few years ago and never completed and I lost the original since then so I am starting from scratch on it. Hope to stick with it this time and finish by labor day, we will see.

Skip the notes, just write about something you know with a heavy dash of weird thrown in-you can't easily plagiarize your ownself...

    2. I would still write it... maybe the story will change as you go through the process... (or maybe not). Hell, hollywood remakes movies all the time, so why can't you rewrite a story?

    1. My impression is that he says BOTH of those things (write without structure (ignore PLOT) and do what works best for you...
