Default The Drawing of the Three

This was the best between The Gunslinger and The Wastelands. I don't have any questions except why did Odetta have to have no legs. What was SK. thinking about. It makes her an oddity. And the carrying of her on Roland's back and Eddie wheeling the chair over rough ground was tiresome for everybody including the reader.

    Hi,

Welcome to the MB, and keep posting.

Yes, Drawing of the Three is great.

Have you finished DT to the very last line of DT7 yet? If not PLEASE don't open any DT threads!

    Long days and pleasant nights

And this is a bad thing, because..?

Living with disability can sometimes be very tiresome, so for some readers this will only add realism to the story.

    Ducky.

Well, the way she loses them is horrifying and it provides a basis for her personality "quirks."

How she lost them is important to the story. Can't remember if that is in DT3 or not so I won't give anything away.

Imperfectness - physically and mentally, is one of the things that I like best about Stephen King's characters. If they were all perfect... well, first I wouldn't like them as much and second, they wouldn't be quite so believable.

Just finished this and loved it!
..why no legs? genius intertwining of plot, surely?
I'm terrified of this section of the forum as I've only read the first 2 and am spoiler-phobic, so I shall run away now, lol.

I don't see why someone who hasn't finished the series should be precluded from starting a thread. I'm on book 5 currently and I've found these boards to be very helpful. I think as long as you avoid threads that might have spoilers, having a place to ask questions and discuss what you're reading adds to the experience. That's only my opinion. Thankee sai.

Walter - I think you misunderstood John. He didn't mean you shouldn't start a thread. He meant you shouldn't look at (open) any existing threads. This is for your benefit so that you don't look at any spoilers.
