Anyone Else Feel This Way?

I'll start by saying I loved this book. It was a perfect balance between paranormal and reality.

*Spoilers Ahead*

Ok now to the point: Did anyone else find it annoying how Mike would never tell Mattie about his ghosts? I mean come on she told him about hers.

Can't say that I got annoyed. People choose what secrets to keep, and if it's their secrets - it's their right.

Yeah, but it even said in the book that he was afraid someone was going to get hurt by the paranormal ghosts, but he still never told her. If Mattie had been murdered by the ghosts then he would blame himself for not confessing his knowledge on the matter.

Yeah, those "paranormal ghosts" are worse than just the old garden variety kind! Putting the smart-aleck mask aside for moment- IMO Mike was conflicted as to whether or not there really WERE any "ghosts", or was it just his(at that point)crumbling sanity? Tough to warn someone you want to trust you, of something you're not even completely sure of yourself...

Yeah but Mattie and Kyra would both tell him they were experiencing the same thing, he should have told Mattie when the 'fridgerator people' dissapeared for both of them.

My only issue with the book was the fact that *spoiler alert* he couldn't write when it was all over.* To go through all that and still not have the ability to do his job really got me.

I think that´s the secret of men and women.
Mike didn´t tell Mattie the truth because he was afraid to scare her and he just wanted to protect her from everything that could happen to her, but that´s just my opinion... I was wondering myself why he didn´t tell her about his ghosts
Maybe she would have gone to another place if he did it...but remember that Jo had to die although she wasn´t in the range of the "ghosts".

Short of a reread, I will say this: Ghosts are most effective when personal. I would venture to say that most ghost reports are by individuals. There are things to share with your loved ones, and things not to share. A loved one may not handle the fear as well as you do, not matter how pitifully.
