Ripoff!

So I got Blockade Billy in the mail yesterday. I finished it in about an hour, and i'm not really that fast of a reader. I knew it was gonna be tiny, but not that tiny. The words were huge and the story: Meh. Nothing to write home about, as they say. In fact, I think I'll start my own company. I'll get in touch with some big authors and tell 'em to write me a small, dinky little story, anything off the top of their head really. Then I'll act like these are the only ones being made, call it a "collectors" or "limited" edition, and sell em for $30 a pop. Who wants in? Those guys over at CD got a pretty good thing going. Hell, Capatilism is what makes this country great and I sure as hell can't blame them for trying to make a buck. God Bless America, brother. But I suppose it'll tide me over until Full Dark.

I suspect you might be in a profit making situation already but I'm not a collector: I'll happily wait till 25th May to get my $9.99 copy no doubt further discounted at ASDA

Well, We'll have to see. Sometimes there is a reason for the madness.
But I know that feeling. I felt a bit like that when I finally got the graphic novel, "The Joker" in Oct 08. I read it it in about 20 min and it was over.

Sorry to hear you felt that way about the book. Personally, I enjoyed the story very much, and the huge words helped old eyes see better. Hopefully, Full Dark will be more to your liking.

obviously you must've completely missed all the talk about it being a short story/short novella...not that it wasn't mentioned virtually all the time...
and have never noticed that almost all limited editions have also almost always been more than a bit pricey...i paid i think it was $25 for a peter straub...'the generals wife', i think it was, way back in the day...AND THEN LEFT IT IN A HOTEL ROOM !!!
life sucks sometimes....but, you can at least take comfort in the fact that, somewhere down the line, some collector might offer you list price...maybe even more if you keep it intact: heck, the card alone may be worth something; you could sell it to someone here in a month who gets the S&S edition -- possibly make a bit o' your ching back !
but, if not...there's always a garage sale !

My only disappointment is not getting the bonus story Morality. Book was cool and the story was great but as for paying more and getting less...kinda sucked!!! I'm not regretful for purchasing it...but like most SK readers, can't get enough!

Wait for the S&S addition, it`s going to be a lot cheaper too.
This way, you have a collectors item for starters.
