    Default Frank Dodd

New to the board. I find it amazing that a character that really has no major part in this novel is such a scary character. Reading about where his mind is at before he kills that woman is chilling. I also find it amazing that in "On Writing" Sai King tells us that he really doesn't remember writing Cujo but to me it is basically a sequel to the Dead Zone with Dodd being the big bad(Bannerman seeing Dodd in the dogs eyes). For whatever reason Frank Dodd is one of the scariest characters King has ever written(at least to me)

I enjoyed Dead Zone from cover to cover, but I'd have to agree that the parts inside Dodd's mind were among the best in the book.

I used to work with a guy who never bothered to remember people's names -- or at least, he never used them. He would call everybody "Slick."

"How's it going, Slick?" "How was your weekend, Slick?" "How 'bout we grab a beer after work, Slick?"

    Irritating.

But I would just grin and bear it and imagine introducing him to another guy who knew about "slick."

Isn't that the moral of "The Stand" when you get right down to it?

In particular reference to The Stand (but also as a general observation), if we posit that God must have included evil in His creation for some purpose we may perceive only through a glass, darkly, it only makes sense that we would not be able to eradicate it entirely . . .

unless, of course, we first eradicate Him.
