    Default What film is that?

    Hi.
    Did you know that in Spain -and in many other countries, as far as I know- the titles of foreign films are usually changed?

    ¿Does it happen in the States, too? I would like to know the English title for Spanish films.

    The point is I've been thinking about this and I'd like to start a game, if you like it.
    We tell the name of a movie (in my case, the Spanish name) and its translation to English, and you may try to guess the original title.

    For instance, Verano de corrupción (= summer of corruption) is the Spanish title for Apt Pupil;
    La tienda (= the shop) is the Spanish title fot Needful Things.

    Now you could try and guess what film Sonrisas y lágrimas (= smiles and tears) is. Clue: Julie Andrews.

    And Con faldas y a lo loco (= wearing skirts and acting crazy) Clue: Jack Lemmon.

    "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" in the U.S. is called something like "H and K Get the Munchies" elsewhere. I don't think White Castle is a multinational chain...in fact I don't think I've even seen one HERE. I do love me some sliders, though. Better than a "Royale W/Cheese."
