Default The Dark Tower series changed my life

I absolutely love the Dark Tower series and truely believe that it has changed my life. Not in that "oh my god I'm going to do everything different" kinda way but in a "Oh my god I'm going to read everything this guy writes" kinda way. My first Stephan King book I read was IT and I loved that but going to school really made me hate reading and so I didn't read for a long time until I was at an airport last year and bought a book. I read two more after that and was getting into it more when I bought The Gunslinger and that's when I was hooked. I read all seven of the Dark Tower books and must say that I have never been sucked into something so deeply in my life. I am the type who will cry at something sad in a movie, but I never thought I could feel like I did when I was reading number seven in the series. When Eddie, Jake, and Oy died it crushed my heart and it felt like one of my close friends or a family member had died, I mean it took me a couple of days to get over Jake's death. I don't know where I'm going with this, I just know that these books made me want to read forever and I say THANK YOU STEPHEN KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Dark Tower series is a life changing experience. I am happy to hear this journey has brought you back to reading again. Sai King has a way of drawing you into his characters. You become one with them. That's why we call him "wordslinger".

i started reading the DT series when i was 10. it had such a profound impact on me that after i finished DT7 i got Arthur Eld's "white" symbol tattooed on my chest. when Sai King was struck by that van i was 14 and scared to death that i would never get to know the ending. thank KA he survived! and the way he incorporated that tragic accident into the series was simply genius. i continue to keep up with King's work but always pay special attention to anything Dark Tower related. hope for more.

I agree that it does make you want to keep reading. and about incorporating the traffic accident, I thought that was pretty clever.
