I -just- joined so please forgive me if i am behind the conversation. The thing i find interesting about this post is that a -lot- of people look at those who take Mr King's literature seriously at all, the same way. They don't see the 5 decades of writing, the change of genre to reach his audience, the break through in Stream of Conscious writing that made it what it is today, the genre jumps and the characterization... that's all before anyone can see the metaphor behind the work itself. Very few known authors have actually breached mediums like Mr King and most of them are taught in school. Right now as it stands, he's entertaining on the forefront but to be completely honest, so were almost every literary geniuses taught through college today.
Avid readers who find metaphor actually took what they learned about analysis of written works and put them to the test. I guess not everyone learned these lessons but they work for every single book you ever read and they help you take more from the writing then you would without them. Sorry if this was already covered. No one is stupid for taking something personal from written works. That is what makes them special.thanks for reading
