Under the Dome Reference? (Even though it wasn't out...)

Did anyone else notice this? On page 255 it says, "Jim--What the hell is this? Any idea? Barbie." It's the part where they find that odd statue and there's a note next to it. Did Stephen King get the main protagonist/antagonist names for Under the Dome, from Desperation?
