I just finished Rose Madder and enjoyed it alot. Never knew This book was tied in with Regulators and Desperation. Cynthia and her two toned hair sure manage to find their way around the King pages. Very cool.

Is it the same Cynthia in all three novels? If so, I never realized...
Sure, don't you remember that great old song-"Runaround Cindy"? "Round, round, get around-she gets around yadda, yadda, yadda"![]()
Yep the same Cynthia. In Desperation she mentions how Norman was her boyfriend and almost bite her ear off. Norman is of course Rose's crazy ex. She talks about mothers and daughters and Gert in Desperation as well.
I am currently re-reading Rose Madder, too, and loved the tie in! Also liked the references to "ka"! Making me itch for a Dark Tower re-read, but I got some other reading I want to do before I bite that off!
Hi -- just to be precise, Cynthia doesn't refer to Norman as her boyfriend in Desperation, and it wasn't Norman who bit her ear off. Norman broke her nose. Some other guy "had nearly torn off her left ear", she tells Steve Ames. (p. 121)
If folks are interested, I just posted a podcast episode about Rose Madder. It's the second episode of The Kingcast, and can be found here: http://thekingcast.ca
I am currently reading desperation and I thought wait isn't cynthia from Rose Madder. Thanks for confirming my thought she is my favorite character in desperation and I am glad she was also in my favorite book Rose Madder.
Yep. It was the 'two-toned' hair that confirmed it for me.
Cynthia was a great character! I was glad to see her in desperation after reading Rose Madder.
