What do you think was the funniest part in IT? I know it's not supposed to be a funny book, but I found that there were a lot of moments of comic relief in this book.
The funniest part that I read was actually the funniest thing I've ever read in ANY book ever. Warning, this contains spoilers and some might actually find this kind of humor gross. So beware.
It was the part where Stan's wife was depressed that they haven't been able to have children yet and she looks forlornly at her box of tampons. And she imagines that the tampons were alive and saying (paraphrasing): "You're never going to have children! WE are your children! Now feed us! Feed us with your blood!"
OMG when I read that I literally was rolling on the floor, laughing so hard trying to catch my breath. I know it's not a kind of humor that most people would enjoy but I LOLed all over the place! The imagery was so perfect and hilarious. Even to this day, my bf and I joke about that whenever we see an ad on tv for feminen hygeine products.
In my world of twisted humor-I found the little snippet about the shark in the canal a laugher. Mainly coz I pictured Roy Scheider and Pennywise as the Captain, sitting on the canal bank singing "I'm tired and I wanna go home"
That's hilarious- ewww!!!! I must have blocked that part out of my mind. I had to comment, but I'll have to give this subject a little more thought, as even though I read it 2x, it's been a while.

there's a line about mrs cole...mrs cole was a perfect democrat. she hated all kids equally...or someone comes out with second babylonians...who? richie of course...bev watching the boys in the junk yard is funny, lighting farts...is there a thread about that?...pennywise is a hoot at times...a memo from pennywise....little smiley faces, balloons w/strings...i like when mike and his old man are in the truck, put me over the hump...and that bit about...big bill i think it was...about him understanding the great principle that moved the universe...you found the crazy guy who is running around inside of you, facking up your life, you chase him into a corner and grab him, but you don't kill him, oh no, killing is too good for the likes of that little bastid...you put a harness over his head and then started plowing, the crazy guy worked like a demon once you had him in the traces, and he supplies you with a few chucks from time to time....that is all there is and that is enough...that one is prolly the best for me out of all of them

"Show me the way to go home...I'm tired and I wanna go to bed...I had a little drink about an hour ago, and it's gone right to my head!"
Yup I understand that feeling--love that song/movie (but the drink a teensy weensy bit more)--and with that, adios amigos!
There was a running joke in It that I didn't get at all, this would be a good time for me to ask if someone can explain it to me. What is "Beep beep, Richie"? Are they making noises like a Roadrunner cartoon, or is it something else?
I know it's not an exact quote from the novel, but I had a good laugh when the kids were making the silver slugs in Zac Denborough's workshop and Ben wanted to tell Beverly she didn't have anything to worry about, but he felt too embarrassed and instead told Stan, who wasn't scared anyway, so Ben had to cover it up by saying "Oh, I thought you were."
Something about that was probably meant to be more serious, or like an awkward situation turned humorous.
I forgot how it was brought up and who was talking about it (from the content, I'm guessing Richie, lol), but that scene of how babies are made me me laugh so hard! LOL!
It's name was pennywise but every one called him it also when ever he said they all float and when your down here you'll float too. I just started cracking up laught.
