    Default Odd Question

    Hello,

I am new and I have an odd question. I hope its ok to ask it here?

I just saw a watch on a well known auction site. It is a Stephen King Red Rose watch complete with certificate.

Does anyone know how many of these watches were made or if they are worth what the seller is asking for it?

    TIA

I think they were given away to people who worked on the set and we were sent some for those of us who worked in the office but I don't know the total number that were made. You don't say what is being asked for it, so can't answer whether it's worth it. I'm not sure I want to know as I think mine got broken--not even sure where it is at this point--and would be upset if they're asking a lot.

LOL...I am sorry. I posted the link below. Are these the same watches that were given away?

I was considering bidding for this, but I know I am impulsive so I am trying to be a little smarter and ask first if this is worth that much.

Sorry your watch broke. I can relate in that I have a favorite watch, worth absolutely nothing that is broken.

Oops, maybe I was not supposed to post a link. The watch is selling for 149.99 or so. I posted the link so you could see the watch and let me know if these were the same ones that were given away.

Could you forward the link to the auction page to Ms. Mod? That way she could lay an eyeball on it, and see if this Rose is truly Red....

Yes, that's the same watch that I have/had. As a watch it is not worth that much money but as a collector's item might be. I haven't personally seen any other sales of these so can't compare what others have paid but in the collectible market, it seems to be a matter of what you're willing to pay. I guess another question to ask is are you buying this as an investment or for your personal pleasure and, if so, how much is that worth to you?

I went without wearing a watch for a very long time and never missed it but received a very nice one a year or so ago that doesn't have a battery and needs to be worn in order to keep it going so have gotten back in the habit. I suspect my treatment of most of these SK-related giveaways would make at least some collectors aghast. I admit I take them too much for granted and don't always take that hands-off, put it in a locked case approach. I know I've lost a lot of rainy day fund potential, but not losing any sleep over it.

Thank you for your help. Actually, I was considering buying it, but you made me think twice. It would probably sit in my closet like so many other watches and other things I like to collect, one good example being perfume. Oh and heels. What a waste! I don't care about them now! LOL

    Thank you all.
