Ms. Mod - I just downloaded Blockade Billy yesterday for $7.89. I feel like taking back everything I said earlier about e-reader discrimination but it did not seem at the time that you thought it would be available in this format so soon. Did something change?
I broke down and ordered the slipcase. I figured why not. I don't have any of the Maestro's books in slipcases and Blockade Billy is something special. The slipcases for this books are still available at Cemetery Dance through this Friday (4/23/10). They're only making 500 of them to sell. That means the other 9,500 1st printings won't have a slipcase. Hey, I now sound like I work for Cemetery Dance! I wonder if they'll give me a break on the slipcase? Nah, I didn't think so.
CD never really said how many slipcase orders they got. It could be 500, it could be 20. They said they only ordered enough of the slipcases to fill the orders they received by last Friday. I doubt we'll ever really know how many slipcases are out there.

It's almost time for the Scribner's edition of Blockade Billy to hit the stands (May 25th). I've seen it priced as low as $8.99. Now, we're talking!
Given Cemetery Dance's penchant for delays and misinformation, I doubt they would ever make such a number public. I fully expect that, after all the made-to-order slipcases are distributed, a month or so later they'll "discover" a box in their warehouse and offer them for sale.

I received ,read, and rewrapped the CD publications version of Blockade Billy. Good read. Nice paper. Cool illustrations. No reader's block at all. Wayne I'm 44 but you know how typos snowball into "Family Guy" humor. I also know the horrors of which you speak. Thanks for the tip, everyone who can afford it, should get one .Low price for Limited Edition first run of the King novella, and a beautiful object too. Thankee Sai, E. Freemantle AKA Beambounder.
