Dear Stephen,
First of all, I am a huge fan of yours. I think you are definitely one of the great writers of the past 50 years. I have almost everything you've ever done and I LOVE your short stories especially. In fact, I'd like to ask you: was the girl in "Nona" real or not? That is an ENDLESS debate between my husband and myself. I know it is deliberately ambiguous and we are supposed to decide for ourselves whether she was real or not but I ALSO KNOW YOU KNOW!
I'd also like to ask you if you have ever thought about doing an interview or being a guest speaker at any events on Second Life. I know you've said you are always looking for new ways to reach people and that would be one. Second Life is sort of like a virtual world and the writing community there is very active. I just went to a Horror Fest there hosted by a writing group that included readings and presentations from authors Emerain Rich, Mark Eller, Michael Stackpole, Tobias Buckell and Henry Snider. I just kept thinking, "This could only be better if The King was here." So that's something to think about.
And I'd also like to let you know that every time you don't answer a fan, an amoeba dies. Please, Mr. King... stop killing the amoebas.
Sincerely,
A. Fan
