    Default Autopsy Room 4

My first real introduction to King was picking up Everything's Eventual at the airport. So of coarse I read it on the plane, and one of the things I love about reading his work is that at an extremly tense momment he makes a joke and you cant help but laugh hysterically. Well if you've read Autopsy Room 4 then you know how it ends. I broke out into hysterics on the plane and the stranger sitting next to me started looking at me questioning my sanity, most likley. So having a blonde momment I proceded to explain the ending of the story, while still laughing. She did not laugh, and was no longer questioning my sanity, she was sure. I still think its one of my favorite momments of looking like an idiot, but I thought fellow King fans might appreciate it. I still laugh when I remember this womans face as I tried to explain what the medical examiner was holding in her hand.

I know what you mean, I just read it and I laughed so loud it woke the dog up. It was pretty funny, I didn't see that happening.

I just finished that last night and really enjoyed how they dated for awhile but had to end it because of the compatability issues. LOL

I read it a while ago.. but I watched the adaptation recently. Loved it, loved it. It's in my top ten of short stories!

As a nurse, everytime I do a physical assessment I think about that story and chuckle-but wearing latex gloves makes feel cheap and tawdry...

Lol. It was very suspenseful, with a humorous ending.

This story chilled me to the core. The thought of myself in his place, to endure pain until you died in such an awful degrading and humiliating fashion. It made me also consider, before it was revealed that he was bitten, what if this was just the way it was when you die? What if you die but your still trapped inside, forced to watch and hear and feel. Ugghhh.
