Default The Man In The Black Suit

Most of you are probably thinking that im writing about this short story in Everythings Eventual. But i am not, and i did look at the threads on this book and saw none about this short story. But this story scared the living daylights out of me and thats why i wanted to share this scary, almost embarassing story on here.

A few months ago i had just finished this great book and laid down to sleep. I had a dream, no a nightmare that night. I was the little boy fishing off the waters and turned around to see this man in a black suit. His suit/robe was old and torn up. His teeth were sharp and pointy, just like pennywise. He Had very long nail. He looked like a human but had no human-like features. He charged at me and after a long struggle i had to kick him in the you no were to get him off. And just like the story, i could feel him breathing down my neck as i ran for my life to get home. So i wake up and my fiance says "honey whats wrong?" I couldnt tell her cuz i know she wouldnt believe me. So i got out of bed, searched the house(with every light on mind you) and also checked under our bed (laugh it up, i know). Now everytime i think of that story it sends chills down my spine. Has anyone else thought that this SK villian was one to never forget? Thank you SK for making one of your lesser known short stories one i'll never forget!!

    Hi,

Great story, thankee for sharing it.

The only SK nightmare I've ever had was from the same book, but it was Little Sisters of Eluria that had me wakening screaming!

    Long days and pleasant nights

Im a big fan of that story as well. It still gives me the creeps for whatever reason when I read it.

For some reason the thread title also makes me think of the Joe Hill Story about the rock star buying the suit that was haunted. I don't scare easy and that is another story that creeped me out reading late at night when no one was home.

although there are many unforgettable villains, the only nightmare i've had that is directly related to one of sk's stories featured me as the monster....cue the elmer fudd chuckle...kill the rabbit! kill the rabbit!....i'd suspect that i am...if not for the occasional nightmare about the three bears, or the three werewolves....none of which explains that dark matter behind my reflection, a kind of 'nother being that seems to be present all too much and all too often...so i guess i get more out of the idea of living vicariously through nick maybe....tom....jake....eddie....the wheels on the bus go round and round...

I've heard stories about men dressed in black...very creepy. *Shudders*

There's are three types of men in black that I've heard about from my grandma once:

    1. Men in black who are handsome beyond belief, they try to lure the unsuspecting to certain death. They are said to be angry spirits and full of hate who were once human. They lived tragic lives and sometimes died violently.

    2. Men in black are messengers of death. Seeing them is suppose to mean that someone will be passing soon. Sometimes the messenger will be dressed in a long black trench coat and a black hat.

    3. Man in black is the devil himself.
