I agree with this completely. The serial part was half the fun of the story!

I also liked it because it was sad and happy at the same time. John Coffey was such a tragic figure because of his gift but he brought happiness to many people including Paul and the Warden and his wife. I found it hard to take that he was not appreciated for what he could do for our world. Yet it was very believable that most people would think that way.

Also it was such a powerful story that I halfway believe it was true.
