Suggestions would be appreciated. I am writing a novel a fictitious novel about Vampire thriller/erotica. My first novel, I love it and have become obsessed. Good or Bad, to become obsessed. I find it hard to get anyone to read it because of the content and now I'm rethinking, starting to inhibit my words.

I wholeheartedly agree with Demeter. Do not ever give your writing up, or anything you're passionate about.

Try and include the use of mouthwash.
I mean sheeesh, you'd think vampires in a story with an erotic setting could probably use a hit or two on the occasion...and maybe some Vampire Viagra.
Well I'd imagine even the undead might need a little help "When the mood is right..." now and again.
Hmm, and if ya think on it, probably even more so.

Welcome! Relax and enjoy yourself while writing that novel, a first draft is one of the few things you can truly call your own! Seriously, don't feel inhibited or self-censor. Put it all down on the page. Later, when you re-write, you'll see the parts that really belong and those that don't. But be gutsy! Take risks!

As for having a hard time finding anyone to read it due to the content, don't show anyone your manuscript until it's done! Like I said, this first draft belongs to you and you only. Then you can unleash it onto the world when it's done...

I think it is very brave to just go with your gut. Don't change your words just because the people you know might be offended. Strike out on your own and do what makes you happy. I'm also excited to join and need suggestions. If you learn anything, will you let me know? I too and writing. Its just a short story right now, but I'm so into it that I may lengthen it. Ghost story based in Colorado, the city of Manitou Springs. Its so rich with history and "hauntings" I just couldn't resist. BTW, its definantly good to be obsessed. This story is your baby. Love it.
