Thumbs down SK has sold out to popular "Green Movement" - very disappointed in Dome

I have been a fan of SK for thirty years and have read almost all his books.

Maybe I have just out grown SK but this book was a major disappointment, SK apeares to be pandering the the current trends. Under the dome is Anti-Christian and an attempt to incorporate all progressive thinking into a fiction novel. Maybe he just was channeling his inner hippy.

I will still buy the next book!

I'm sorry, but I don't get it. Am I being obtuse here?

The Leatherheads are Muslimists. Even worse, they are Saab-driving stockholders of Wal-Mart!

They are the reason that VHS beat Betamax.

O.K.-really? Can we not just read the book and enjoy it without railing against the sub-text? (perceived or real) I'm not naive, I know Uncle Steve puts his own agenda into his novels, but not all the time and not always consciously. Geez, just value it for what it is-a long but enjoyable trip. I'm a Christian and it didn't offend me, so relax he's not sending the Centurions after us(or the library police either).

But...he started the book a long time ago. A triceratops ate the first draft. The modernitizing of parts of the book doesn't work wonders with me. Some of that stuff was like an incontinent snail sliding down a paraplegics tongue.

    I still liked the story.

    I read outside the lines.

I sold out to the Green Movement too. They gave me the promise of a clean planet and a bunch of new jobs that stay in the country in return, the tricksy bastids!
One of these days I'll find my way back to advocating for filth, litter and wastefulness. Gosh I'm really gonna miss smog and that sweet crude foreign oil that people have to die for. I have also been finding it hard to embrace the practice of perverting the teachings of Christ and being a money grubbing selfish assshole in his name.....
    I'm soooo sorry!
