Default Morbid topic...what are your post-life plans?

A friend of mine just mentioned that I was the only person he knew who actually had a family plot at a cemetery. I know where I'm going to be buried, in fact I even once lay down on the grass to see what it would feel like. Kinda morbid, I know, but let's face it: death is one common experience we will all go through at some point or another.

So anyway, this got me wondering if anyone out there has specific plans for their burial or cremation?

    I plan to be Dead!
    Hopefully I will decompose quickly...
    Perhaps I'll become a tree.

I have made specific plans to be cremated. After that it is up to my family what they do with my ashes. I have a real issue with what remains of my earthly self being put in the ground to decompose. I know I am not going to be around to see what happens, but it is as the say "the thought that counts" in this case and it freaks me out. So do with my ashes as you will but don't let me just take up otherwise useful space.

Yep, I'm 6'9" and already told my better half she's going to have to "flame broil" me. It's the only way to take care of it, coz she says she doesn't want em having to chop me off at the knees to fit me in a casket.Seriously, with my large frame(coz I go near 300 pounds), it's the best option and yes, we have our plots picked out. The only thing we haven't done is pay for the incidentals. It's not morbid, it's good planning with the high price of everything.

The below referenced book is an interesting read when you are considering what is to be done with your earthly remains.

The American Way of Death was an exposé of abuses in the funeral home industry in the United States, written by Jessica Mitford and published in 1963. Feeling that death had become much too sentimentalized, highly commercialized, and, above all, excessively expensive, Mitford published her research showing the ways in which funeral directors take advantage of bereaved friends and relatives of loved ones, and sweet talk them into paying far more than necessary for the funeral and other costs, such as a grievance counselor, a title which they allowed themselves completely without merit.

An updated revision, The American Way of Death Revisited, completed by Mitford just before her death in 1996, appeared in 1998.

In keeping with her wishes, Mitford herself had an inexpensive funeral, which cost $533.31 – she was cremated without a ceremony, and the ashes scattered at sea; the cremation itself cost $475.[1] The funeral company was the Pacific Interment Service, which prides itself on "dignity, simplicity, affordability".[2]

I do have a home away from home but I have not tried it on for size. Although, that is an intriguing idea.

I'd prefer the Hefty Cinch Sac method, Tuesday morning pick-up, and then on to not quite so Science Diet Special (very special I might add) Scavenger & Varmint Food...but I think I could make the grade and be one swell briquette.
To put it another way, I could honestly care less...if anyone wants some slightly used tattoos (I think they'd be great for arts & crafts for the kiddies, and much safer than that wood burning kit little Johnny's been whining about), I'd suggest getting here early before the mourning rush.
(you just don't know what to moan about first on this one huh?)

I'd thought to be cremated & have my ashes scattered across these mountains where we've made our home...
But my wife would be liable to come out the backdoor just as the wind picked up & go,
"Shitt! I got a piece of T in my eye!"

No, no specific plans other than I've set aside money for my wife to do what's necessary. I'll leave it in her capable hands. I figure I'm dead at that point, so what do I care? I'd rather she do whatever gives her peace and comfort at the time. She's asked me to do the same for her, whatever feels best at the time.
