    Default American Vampire

“There’s been a whole spate of vampire stories where the vampires are kind of like boy toys, and they’re kind of beautiful, and you want to kind of pet them and take them home with you,” Stephen King exclusively tells The Daily Beast, in his first interview on his new project.
This statement really tickled me as being so true, so true.

My question to you, fellow readers, how do you like to read about vampires? Soft and squishy or seductive and strong (oh, my!) or as a downright vicious beast?

I like them complicated. So, my preference would be for them to be seductive and vicious.....

LOL... that statement tickled me too The one that really made fall out of my chair was... dead from the waist down. Its about time someone remembered vampires are supposed to be evil lol.

I didn't know thought bubbles had been phased out *feels old* hehe... I'm sure SK will make good use of those little narration boxes

Years ago I read a recurring series in Heavy Metal magazine called "Tex Arkana". It was about vampires, etc in an old west town. The artistry and story was intoxicating. I have often thought that some things in the DT were possible influenced by this series. American Vampire seems like it also could be, perhaps from SK or the other artists/story writers. Does anyone have any comment on this or know if any of the people involved were influenced by it?

If you have never heard of this series, I think that most most people here would find it very entertaining. The entires series is available online now at the original artist's website: http://www.texarcana.com/

I don't find vampires all that interesting, attractive or otherwise. Well, let me correct myself -- from dusk till down (though not a book) was pretty good. Yeah, I do like my vampires attractive, in a salma hayeck sort of way.

I prefer mine to be scary. The idea of a seductive vampire just doesn't cut it for me.

Mookie, seems to me as though seductive and scary are not mutually exclusive......
