Reggie Nalder or Rutger Hauer

Gotta go with Reggie, even though his appearance differs from the novel and is a blatant rip-off of Max Schrek's make-up in Nosferatu...that look is just scary as heck. Come to think of it, all the undead in the old mini series are pretty darn frightening. That scene where they're prying open Barlow's casket,while behind them, through the darkened celler depths, the undead are starting to stir and creep closer...Tobe Hooper, man.

I'm going against the majority here, but I thought Rutger Hauer was much prettier..er, I mean much more effective as Barlow. Normal, with a hint of menace and then bam - downright scary.
