Post Hello, and a quick question

Well, I am rather new here (in fact, this is my first post, nevertheless, I have recieved some friend requests already (thanks to y'all) even though I have yet to post so this must be a friendly place), so hello.

For a number of personal reasons*, my collection of novels by Stephen King has only just begun, but I will say I really like these new softcover books that all are formatted the same way on the cover.

Anyways, I do have a question about the Dark Tower (in fact, asking this question was the primary reason I joined this forum). I am aware of the whole two publishers fiasco thing, but is there, or will there at some stage in the game be, a boxset of all seven Dark Tower novels that all are formatted the same. In my opinion, nothing is worse than changing the versions of books in a series you have halfway through.

    Thanks!

    * mainly, my parents seem to be under the impression that fiction relates to reality, and anything to do with "horror" is asking for Hellfire; I obviously disagree, hence my precense here, and see no reason why a strong Christian such as myself should not enjoy the works of someone like King

In a way I feel bad for Stephen King because of his stereotype. Yes the man writes horror but if people would take the time out to actually sit and read a book they would see that mostly what Stephen King writes about is human nature. Yes there are always those supernatural elements in there, those questions of the unknown, but people have been using something like it in their lives for centuries, it's called The Holy Bible. Myself, I believe the Bible whole-heartdedly, but there are still those unanswerable questions lying in there, for instance "Cain was sent away from his family and found his wife." How is that possible when Adam and Eve were the first humans and their spawn, Cain and Able, were third and fourth?! Stephen King writes about the forces unknown and imagined but is it really so far fetched from the stories we read about how humans and the Earth got her to begin with?

Adam and Eve had something like 72 children. It was his half sister that he procreated with. There was no law against incest.

Kevin, I got a Kindle in July and downloaded all 7 books. I had already read them once but wanted to read the series again. Personally, I loved reading the series on the Kindle - and it allowed me to take the entire series with me wherever I went.

This is one of those Biblical debates that have been going on since forever. The Bible contains many mysteries that one either believes or chooses to reject; it's all a question of faith. We've been given free will to choose, what we read is but one of the many choices that we encounter. Personally, I don't think that the Creator is going to send me to the hot place for reading Stephen King. I would have to commit a much more serious "infraction".......

    Hi,

It's my fantasy to have a Kindle-type machine loaded with DT, all the books with connections, and Robin Furth's invaluable Concordance and Bev Vincent's The Road to the Dark Tower.

And maybe the graphic novels too?

    Long days and pleasant nights

Free will is the ultimate blessing. For this I chose to believe the Bible and have the utmost faith. I doubt we'll be sent to the "Hot Place" either...

    Hello Kevin.

I can't help but notice that no one has replied to your original question

Seems those fantasies and the religious debate has everyone distracted.

Now does anyone have the answer?

Sorry, forgot to get back to this one. Donald M. Grant Publisher does own the U.S. rights for all 7 books but only for the limited editions. There's no way of knowing now if there will ever be a box set of all 7 books once the publishing rights are held by one U.S. publisher for a mass market edition. I'm sure a lot would depend on what production costs and market interest was at that time.
