With age, my eyesight, like Stephen King, gets progressively worse, so with "Under the Dome", which I bought for my wife (wink, wink, nudge, nudge), I also had to buy the CD's.
In part, so I didn't miss anything, since I don't see so well anymore (I do drive), but when it comes to reading, it gets harder and harder for me. What I missed in the book, I found on the CD's, and I absolutely loved this book.
I thought "Desperation" was the best (tak-ala), then "Duma Keys", then this, what next?
Long ago, I gave up on trying to get one book, any book of Stephen's autographed. I remember before his accident, I was about five years away.
So, when I went up to Bates College last year, I went to a bookstore by his house, but it was closed. I did get a great picture of his house, though.
I want to thank Stephen King. In High School (I'm now 46), I hated reading.
In college, I took what I thought would be a basket weaving type of course, The Writings of Stephen King. I thought it would be easy, but a book a week?
Anyway, twenty years later, I can't stop reading. Mostly King, but some others (78 books last year)!
Thank you, Stephen, you're the most talented writer ever!
Dennis
