    Default King, being anti-trailer-cist

I found Bag of Bones particularly offensive in that respect. Ohhhh, so those who live in trailers only have satin Elvis and Nascar posters? Dinner table’s with cinderblock leg stands? Piecemeal couches? And Mattie’s the exception to the rule with her fancy Van Gough print? Pshh.

    Such anti-trailer-ism.

Perhaps Sai King was drawing on his own experiences? At one time he and Tabby lived in a small trailer, he wrote in the laundry room with her typewriter perched on his lap. churning out the short stories for those men's magazines and working on novels. I doubt that they had the best furniture and paintings by masters on their walls. I, too, live in a 'modular home' but I wasn't offended by the passages in Bag of Bones. I'm sorry that you felt slighted by what King wrote. Don't take it personally, he meant no harm.

    Kingricefan,

I was just being silly. All these recent threads accusing king of bigotry in one form or another are silly themselves -- flattery in emulation and all that.

No, I wasn't really offended either.

You are from SC, so you obviosuly am be from a trailer with bare feet. You and the trailer. I'd hate to dangle my adverbial participle.

    I think we is cousins.

    Good fun,
