I would like to say that the jury selection process in the State of California, County of San Bernardino, is the most boring process in the world.
Especially after lunch, when you are short on sleep, just after you have gone to work for 2-1/2 hours, and you reeeeely, reallllllly need a nap.
Thank goodness, they actually started the trial today-THAT was pretty interesting, and I actually woke up!
And don't ask, I am not supposed to talk about any particulars and will not talk of particulars about the case, EXCEPT that it involves a mime, three knives, limburger cheese, a gopher and a very disturbed dog trainer. . .
NBC's coverage of the Olympics is the suck. The plethora of commercials (3 minutes of content followed by 3 minutes of ads... pretty consistently). Poor coverage of most events. Jingoistic coverage. Showing only a few matches/skates/runs. And it looks awful! Oh sure, if nothing is moving the HD looks great. But should someone move... blech. Compression dies and everything looks like little boxes. Oh, and let's not forget the fluff pieces; loggers? sled dogs? AAaaRRrrGGggHHhh! Even with 4 channels, they've manage to short change both us and the athletes. /end rant
Can we let ESPN do it next time?
I am going to take the time to see all the greatness around me. It's very cold but the Sun is up and shining brightly. Moms/Dads Husbands/wives are up early and going off to work. Little kids bundled up in winter coats march off to school. People waving me in into traffic. "Momma Patrols" guiding wee ones across the street. Co-workers saying "Please, Thank you, your welcome'.
Co-workers sharing lunches and conversation. The end of a work week. My dog waiting for me at the end of the drive. My little humble home and our little family healthy and together happily.
Today I want to say thank you for still having a Momma and Daddy I can call anytime I want.
No, there is no "magic happy pill." Yes, you do have to go back to work. No, the meds are not giving you Alzheimer's.
