Movie: Big Jim Rennie

I just finished Under the Dome. Great book! Something tells me that someone has already said this but doesn't this strongly resemble The Simpsons movie. Does anyone know if Mr. King put out any previews of the book earlier than 2007?

I always pictured the pro-wrestler J.B.L. (John Bradshaw Layfield). His charismatic way of running promos and working the microphone would be perfect for Rennie in a film version.
