I'd be ok with John Goodman, but I wanna see James Gandolfini do it so bad.

I'm thinking a mix of Tony Soprano and his character from The Last Castle...

How about Bruce Campbell with a little padding? He can play evil with a sardonic twist.

I was picturing Dick Cheney the whole time...I wondered if he was the inspiration. Keeping the "dimwitted" Andy as the front man sounded VERY familiar!!

Absolutely agree, Keach is the only actor I could see playing Big Jim.

    Hi,
I checked on the internet and I agree on th fact that both Stacy Keach and Ned Beatty would physically be perfect for the role, with a + for Stacy Keach because of his eyes...

someone who would make a great Big Jim.....Ian MacShane......or even Vincent D'Onofrio (when he's put on weight....check him out in The Salton Sea as Poohbear)....but, as with any SK novel, there are always tricks to casting his characters

    Gene Hackman or Colm Meaney.
And Jonathan Rhys Meyers could be a great Junior Rennie

Mr. Cox is a good choice but your idea of Hackman really rings a bell with me. Hackman may not have the physical stature but his acting can make you believe he does!!
