    Default poor editing

I'm not sure if this has already been posted by someone else but I am half way through reading under the dome and have picked up on many mistakes. For example on one page Juila Shumway's dog is refered to as Horace and then on the next page it is twice refered to as Hector and then goes back to Horace. So far I have come across 4 name mistakes in half the book. I think that if I can pick them up shouldn't someone else have before it was published?

It has been but even with many sets of eyes reading a manuscript, continuity errors still get through especially with a manuscript of this size. There are several other errors which you did not mention so perhaps you may have missed those and, if so, I rest my case.

Yeh my cat is probably confused with her names.
A few family members call her "Scamp" and my brothers call her "Babe."
I simply refer to her as "Cat."

Ooh and another thing "she" probably finds confusing...the cat is male, yet we all refer to her as female.
Maybe we should put her into therapy, no wonder she has "issues."

Someone should keep a list and submit it, so that future editions/printings of UTD can be corrected. Since I'm just starting the book, I'll volunteer.

Unless someone at S&S has already taken up the task.........

Yeah, my poor cat has the same problem. His name is Buzz, and most of the time I call him that. I have a habit of calling him "Baby Boy", and "Bubby". My hubby calls him "stupid cat", "crazy cat", or just "animal". Did I ever mention hubby is a dog person?

Sometimes there are mistakes in novels, and a novel the size of "Under the Dome"....but i understand your criticism...

Well Sam, do you like the story? I can find editing errors and typos in almost any book I read, but I go ahead and read it because I like the stories. SK books have some of the best fiction on the planet...a very gifted writer.

Hope you enjoy the book and read some of the others. The Dark Tower books are my all time favorites.
