Cool. If it is a true coincidence, I would be curious to the motivation of the artist.

    Cool!

I guess it could be a coincidence, but lets see here:

    - Tower
    - Beams from tower
    - Rose
    - Train
    - Giant turtle
    - Wolves
    - Robot
    - img19

Some of these are kind of a stretch, but I dont know, if it is a coincidence it's not small one...

It just goes to show that SK and DT have fans in high places haha.

King did not originate the idea of the world on a turtle's back. The giant bear wasn't his either (well, the robot idea was, unless he borrowed it from Terry Brooks).

He's read/observed a whole dang bunch and assimilated some great ideas along the way while simultaneously chunking the junk.

He's also made up some cool new stuff.

The "img19" thing is fun though, even if it's just synchronicity at play on a higher level.

I found a nice BIG picture of this and I gotta say, there's NO way this is a coincidence. I've seen this picture, but I've never seen it like THIS before: Turtle of enormous girth, Robot (looks like Andy), Train, Tower with 9 beams extending from the top, Rose, wolves, The name of the picture (img19). I mean if it IS a coincidence, it's still a marvel. However, I've noticed (especially after reading DT) everything's there for a reason. There are no coincidences. Thank you for sharing this!

The artist (Yuko Kondo) probably drew upon ancient myths, as SK may have also done. The turtle is a figure in a few myths. In Cheyenne myth, the World Turtle carries the Earth upon its back. In Hindu mythology, the world is thought to rest on the backs of four elephants, who stand on the shell of a turtle (Terry Pratchett used this myth in his Discworld series).

I just registered to say there is absolutely no way this is coincidence or based on other myths. I've had this as my desktop background at work for months now, it's a little piece of inspiration everytime i look at it. Everything is there, i see roont children and the horn of gilead or whatever it was called. I need to read the Dark Tower series again actually. Best books ever written.
